Fluoxetine for IBS

Can fluoxetine help my IBS?
Fluoxetine is an antidepressant and widely prescribed for patients with IBS. The drug is known to reduce anxiety or panic attacks. The only way to know if it will work is to try it out. The drug does not work immediately. Take a low dose of the drug and continue it for several months. In some people, it calms the mind and this helps the individual forget about the abdomen. If the drug fails to work in 6-8 weeks, it is unlikely to help at all.
