Snoring and sleep apnea

I have a problem with snoring and my doctor says I have sleep apnea. He recommended I use a CPAP device at home. Any suggestions?

CPAP is a mask like device that is worn at night. There is also a nasal CPAP device available. CPAP devices are ideally recommended for people who have been diagnosed with a medical condition called sleep apnea. During sleep apnea, the individual stops breathing at night and during the daytime, he/she feels drowsy and fatigued. For the snorer who has not been diagnosed with sleep apnea, this is not a recommended device. These appliances are very uncomfortable to wear, are relatively expensive and one also needs to meet requirements for home oxygen. In addition, one is unable to speak or swallow with the device on. CPAP devices do work and eliminate snoring.

My best advice is lose some weight, walk everyday and eat less. Losing weight will help you cure your sleep apnea and then you will not have to buy any outrageously priced medical equipment or see doctors again.
