Tension headaches and acupuncture

I have tension headaches and am deciding on acupuncture therapy. Does it work?

Tension headaches are painful and often last for many hours. However, the majority of these headaches subside without any treatment. Recently the alternative healthcare practitioners have been advocating acupuncture for these headaches. Some patients do respond to acupuncture but there is no way of knowing who will respond. The other problem is that acupuncture is not cheap because it usually involves many sessions. My best advice is to try an over the counter painkiller and see which works.

Acupuncture is more for people who have money to waste and are too
stubborn to listen to good advice. Remember the pills cost $10 for a month supply. Whereas acupuncture costs anywhere from $75-$150 per session and may not even work.
